This coming weekend on February 27th, Grouse Mountain is proud to host the World Snowshoe Invitational and National Championships. This is a last minute opportunity we had presented to us and we jumped on the opportunity. Be part of the over 200 racers that are expected for this event including 30 international athletes from 9 countries. There is both a 5km and 10km option that are open to all ages and abilities.
Registration:
Pre-Registration: Wednesday February 24 at midnight at www.theyeti.ca. Day of race registration is also offered.
Registration will be held in the Valley Plaza near Guest Services & Starbucks before you procede to the Skyride. Registration is not available at the top of the mountain.
Fees: If you are not currently a Grouse Mountain Membership or Winter Season/Y2Play Passholder you will have to purchase a $5 admission ticket for the Skyride.

- 5K Sport Course - 7:30am - 9:00am
- 10k Snow Run - 9:00am - 11am
Race Start Time:
- 5K Sport Course - starts at 10am
- 10k Snow Run - starts at 12pm
*In order to qualify for the Canadian National Champs or the Worlds you must be registered for the 10k Snow Run*
Other Event Information
- Terrain: Cat track, single track, powder sections, hiking trails, hills and awesome viewpoints.
- Refreshments: Energy Drink, fruit, bagels, cookies and much more. You won't leave hungry.
- First Aid: There will be First Aid at the finish line and also as the course sweep. We will be able to access anyone on course in the event of an emergency.
- Spectators: Spectators are welcome to come out and cheer everyone on. The best place to view is the start/finish area. Each Racer participant receives a complimentary Skyride admission for 1 guest. You can also bring 2 more for 50% off!
- Awards/Prizing: Outside at the Finish Line - 1:30pm
- Snowshoe Rentals: The Yeti has snowshoes available to rent for all races. Grouse Mountain also has snowshoe rentals. Inventory is based on a first come first served basis
- The Yeti does have a limited supply of running specific snowshoes to rent for $10 but they are on a first come first pre-registered basis. The Yeti will send out an announcement when all of these running specific snowshoes are rented for each event. Make sure that you are signed up for the Yeti newsletter to receive that information.
