Food & Beverage Administrator

One part time position available

Responsibilities: 
  • Appling a variety of skills including secretarial, word processing, record keeping, data entry etc. 
  • Working independently with guidance from F&B Manager & Director 
  • Answering the Food & Beverage reception phone and responding to a variety of inquiries 
  • Coordinating Special Events, e.g. Valentines Day, New Years Eve 
  • Taking reservations for The Observatory Restaurant 
  • Organizing the food and beverage office and reception area--- includes filing, ordering and inventory of office supplies, maintenance of office equipment such as photocopier etc. 
  • Assisting the Food and Beverage department when necessary 
  • Working with the catering department in conjunction with maintenance of weekly banquet contracts and the coordination of site inspections 
  • Attending Food & Beverage and Catering Meetings, takes notes and distributes them. 
  • Assisting with payroll and sales/labor reports 
  • Assisting with HR documentation

Qualifications: 
  • Successful completion of secondary school 
  • Minimum one year administrative experience preferably in a sales environment 
  • Experience handling cash required 
  • Experience with multi-line phone system is preferred 
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written 
  • Ability to multi task 
  • Exceptional employee relations skills 
  • Microsoft Office skills and a Point of Sale system experience preferred 
  • Keyboard skills of a minimum of 40wpm 
  • Graphic computer knowledge is an asset, preferably Adobe 
  • Team Player 
  • Knowledge of food and beverage operations preferred 
  • Weekend availability necessary
