Responsibility:
- Secondary food production, preparation, cuts and transformation of all raw products, cooking of all ingredients, all cooking methods: sauteing, grilling, roasting, frying, baking, poaching, steaming, stewing, braising, smoking etc.
- Sauce and soup making, more elaborate pastries, basic chocolate work, hot and cold line cooking in casual and fine dining restaurant as well as banquet.
- Maintaining a standard of food quality in accordance to the guide line provided b the Sous-Chefs and Chef
- Providing professional guidance and training to lower ranking fellow workers
- Maintaining order and rotation of food in main kitchen refrigerators and storage's
Qualifications:
- Completion of secondary school is required
- Proficient knowledge of food safety
- Ability to train personnel
- Excellent customer service skills
- High energy and strong work ethic
- Ability to work under minimal supervision
- Food Safe certificate required
- WHMIS required
Must have one of the following three completed:
- Completion of a three-year apprenticeship program for cooks
- Completion of college or other program in cooking
- Several years of commercial cooking experience
