Responsibilities:
- Devises and implements corporate public relations strategies relevant to market climate and key demographics
- Manages and upholds public relations policies
- Oversees the preparation of media releases and presentations
- Acts as primary spokesperson- on and off-site- for media enquiries
- Manages on-going contact with print, electronic, broadcast, and new media
- Tracks media coverage daily and issues stakeholder reports
- Researches and shares strategic industry developments through conferences, tradeshows, and networking events
- Serves as on-site media liaison for all productions and news stories
- Issues story starters to newswire and trade publications/organizations
- Issues internal briefs and advisories with key messages on a variety of initiatives
- Contributes to ongoing copywriting, proofing, and editing of corporate documents including a monthly employee newsletter
- Academic background in communications/marketing/media relations strongly preferred
- Minimum 3 years in related field, preferably in a supervisory or management capacity
- Exceptional grasp of the English language and outstanding public speaking skills
- Ability to work flexible hours/on-call
- Ability to work independently
- Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task
- Willingness to network, attend conferences, tradeshows and industry meetings
