Grouse Mountain, in conjunction with Jim Wiese, is pleased to offer this program that combines snow activities with specially designed science curriculum activities. Enhance your snow experience with an exploration of the science of snow, skiing, snowboarding, ice skating or snowshoeing.

Secondary Science of Snow
This program includes observations and measurements of selected aspects of skiing/snowboarding, skating or snowshoeing applying mechanics, thermodynamics and other elements of the Physics 11 & 12 curriculum in outdoor winter activities. Students can choose from skiing/snowboarding, or a combination of ice skating and snowshoeing. Program pricing is listed below.

Elementary Science of Snow – New This Year!
This program compliments Grouse Mountain’s 1-Day or 4-Day ski or snowboard sessions. Curriculum activities match the science IRPs for Grades 4 – 7.

Booking Information
Recommended program date is January 8th, 2009, however, program is offered all season.

  1. Determine the number of students and accompanying adults in your group.
  2. Determine whether January 8th is an appropriate date for your group. If not, choose 3 dates that may be appropriate. Booking for January 8th is limited.
  3. Contact us at 604.980.9311 or education@grousemountain.com.
  4. Upon receipt of your booking, we will send you a Booking Confirmation by fax. Please review the booking information carefully, sign and return the fax to 604.984.6360 as soon as possible.
  5. A non-refundable deposit of $250 is required to confirm the booking date. Cheques are payable to Grouse Mountain Resorts Ltd. Credit card payments are also accepted.
  6. To make changes to your booking contact us as soon as possible.
  7. All completed forms, along with full payment, must be received by Grouse Mountain by December 5th, 2008 for the January 8th date or 14 days prior to your selected program date.
