Wildlife & Education: Refuge for Endangered Wildlife

Ranger Talks

Wildlife behaviour can be fascinating to observe. Witnessing two adult male grizzlies wrestle in the mud or hearing a pack of grey wolves howl in the morning fog can inspire a new appreciation for the subtleties and nuances of these species.

But it can equally be confounding. How do you know when grizzly bears are simply playing with one another or really mean business? Why does one wolf get to feast on a meal before another? Why do ravens hover above at certain times of the day more than others?

Our Ranger Interpretive Sessions will answer these questions and more. Hosted by our team of experienced rangers and wildlife managers, Interpretive Sessions are intended to demystify the wildlife behaviour you have witnessed at any of our protected or open alpine habitats.

Friendly and knowledgeable wildlife professionals will offer you some background on The Refuge for Endangered Wildlife, Grouse Mountain’s diverse and unique mountaintop ecosystem, and will be on hand to answer your questions.
