Winter Activities: Snowshoeing

Snowshoe Drop-in

Grouse Mountain offers drop-in programs designed to appeal to all fitness levels. Whether you are just recently acquainted with this growing winter sport, or whether you are a seasoned snowshoe racer or fitness enthusiast, our programs offer a variety of mountain experiences for everyone.

OPTION 1 - Snowshoe Drop-In Training Nights:
  • Wednesday at 7pm*
  • Through March 19, 2008 
  • It is a fun, 90-minute outing in a social atmosphere or a fitness session through the Munday Alpine Park - a fantastic workout and a great winter alternative to the Grouse Grind. 
  • Special $5 rental rate available to all session participants. Rental vouchers are available for purchase at either Base Guest Services or Alpine Guest Services. Once you have purchase your voucher, please proceed to the Snowshoe Hut to pick up your snowshoes. Please arrive 15 minutes early if rental snowshoes are required.

OPTION 2 - Snowshoe Drop-In Night Hikes:

  • Monday at 7pm*
  • February 4 through March 17, 2008
  • This is a fun, 60-90 minute snowshoe hike through the Munday Alpine Snowshoe Park.
    Please note: this session is not geared towards those looking for a running-specific workout
  • Special $5 rental rate available to all session participants. Rental vouchers are available for purchase at either Base Guest Services or Alpine Guest Services. Once you have purchase your voucher, please proceed to the Snowshoe Hut to pick up your snowshoes. Please arrive 15 minutes early if rental snowshoes are required.


The snowshoe groups leave the Grouse Mountain plateau at 7pm sharp. It is highly recommended that participants catch the 6:30 Skyride at the very latest to ensure participation. These sessions are in high demand and there may be a wait.

All snowshoe drop-in sessions are complimentary with your Annual Grouse Mountain Membership, Winter Season Pass or Grouse Mountain Admission.

All participants meet in front of the Snowshoe Hut at the mountaintop Ice Skating Pond.

Be sure to dress appropriately for an outdoor workout; synthetic tights or pants, light layers and a shell jacket are recommended, along with sturdy running shoes. Headlamps are recommended and will be supplied if needed.
