24 Hours of Winter 

Feburary 9 and 10, 2013

For anyone who has ever wondered what it would be like to carve down a ski run as the sunrise frames the city in front of you, 24 Hours of Winter is the time to find out. On February 9 and 10, diehard winter enthusiasts and winter wonderland seekers can take advantage of endless winter sports.

To celebrate the one-year countdown to the 2014 Olympic Winter Games in Sochi, the Peak of Vancouver will be open for 24 consecutive hours of winter fun. The entire resort will be open around the clock for guests to enjoy activities including a torch relay, kid’s hockey tournament, skiing, riding, snowshoeing, shopping and dining.


Event Schedule 
Skiing/Snowboarding
Non-stop from 9am on Saturday to 10pm on Sunday
*run closure schedule in effect for grooming and maintenance

Ice Rink: 
Public skating open from noon on Saturday to 10 pm on Sunday.
Please note that the rink will be closed between 9am to noon and 4pm to 6pm both days for a special Junior Pond Hockey Tournament. Please visit the event page for more information on the Tournament.

Terrain Parks:
Non-stop from 9am on Saturday to 10pm on Sunday 

Park Jams 7pm - 8pm and 11pm – 1am. Whether you are a skier or snowboarder, guy or girl, young or old, come on out to win loads of prizing and have a good time!

Sleigh Rides: 
Operating Saturday from 9am-10pm and on Sunday 9am-10pm 

Snowshoe Grind Mountain Run:
Test your skills against other active snowshoers and enjoy a well-earned apres celebration.  Takes place 8.30am on Saturday, February 9.  Advance registration opening soon and visit the event page for more information

Snowshoeing: 
Open during regular operating times (9am to dusk). Special for 24 Hours of Winter, guided sunset, midnight and sunrise tours will be offered (headlamps required for night tours - weather and trail conditions dependent).

Torch Parade:
On Saturday evening at 9 pm, the city’s favourite playground will be aglow with enthusiastic skiers carving their way down the mountain in wide, deliberate turns that will be easily visible from countless vantage points throughout the City.

DC Scavenger Hunt:
24 single shoes for 24 hrs! The single shoes will be set up around the hill, hanging in unique spots (in bounds) for you to find an exchange at outfitters for a DC Prize pack!
Dining Schedule

Altitudes:
 (No minors past 8pm)
  • Saturday: open 11:00am-4:00am
    DJ will be spinning tunes from 8:00pm to 4:00am
  • Sunday: open 7:00am-10:00am for brunch, and re-opens 11:00am - 10:00pm

Lupins: (Alcohol-free zone from 10:00pm Saturday to 11:00am Sunday)
  • Open from 11:00am on Saturday to 8:00pm Sunday (short closure between 10:00am-11:00am, Sunday)
  • Sunday morning breakfast between 7am to 10am 

Grouse Grind Coffee Bar (Alcohol-free zone entire weekend)
Open all weekend except: 7:00am-8:00am on Saturday & Sunday

Starbucks:
Open at 8:00am on Saturday and closes at 10pm on Sunday

Complimentary Shuttle 

For your convensience, a complimentary shuttle will be running from 12am to 8am on Sunday between Grouse Mountain and key North Shore locations.

Hop-off 
Guests can hop off at any point along the route. They must advise driver in advance. 

Designated Hop-on Spots: 
  • Edgemont Village (in front of Starbucks) 
  • Upper Lonsdale (Prospect @ Rockland) 
  • Lonsdale Quay (Chadwick Court at the end of Chesterfield Place) 
  • Marine Drive & Capilano Road (at the Petro Can parking lot)
  • Capilano Road opposite the Capilano Suspension Bridge 

Please note that if there is no one waiting at the above stops when the driver comes by, he will not stop, and will continue along the route. Schedule and route are subject to change.
