(North Vancouver) The most wonderful time of year kicks off at Grouse Mountain with the return of the annual Peak of Christmas celebration today, November 27th. The elves have been hard at work transforming the mountaintop into a magical winter wonderland, ready for the highly-anticipated arrival of Santa Claus at Vancouver’s North Pole.

New this winter, experience our magical Light Walk around Blue Grouse Lake. Be awestruck by stunning light installations as you walk amongst the fir and spruce, all set against a majestic mountain backdrop.

For more outdoor fun, take a spin on Grouse Mountain’s 8,000-square foot outdoor ice skating pond surrounded by trees and adorned with glimmering lights. With some additional snowfall, guests will be able to experience mountaintop sleigh rides and the new multi-lane groomed Sliding Zone, the perfect activity for the child in all of us!

“We are thrilled to welcome visitors of all ages to Vancouver’s North Pole for our Peak of Christmas celebration,” said Grouse Mountain Senior Marketing Manager, Ainslie Fincham. “With outdoor adventures like our enchanting new Light Walk, visits with Santa or Holiday classics in our mountaintop theatre, everyone can take part in the magic of the holidays.”

At Santa’s Workshop, believers young and old share their special Christmas wishes and take a photo. Visits are by donation with all proceeds raised going towards the British Columbia SOS Children’s Village, a long-time Grouse Mountain charitable partner that provides care for children in need.

As the gathering place during the Peak of Christmas, the Peak Chalet will feature an enchanting Gingerbread Village, also in support of SOS Children’s Village BC. Guests are encouraged to vote for their favourite Gingerbread Village creation to select a grand prize winner while contributing much-needed funds to this very deserving charity.

An annual favourite, the Breakfast with Santa program runs from Saturday, December 12th through Thursday, December 24th. Back for another season, The Observatory’s popular Christmas Lunch also returns on weekdays from December 7th to 24th.
