Program Overview

Using our local animals as ambassadors of the animal kingdom, students will uncover the vast variety of fascinating adaptations that enable these species to forage, defend themselves, co-exist and reproduce.

Field Experience Overview - Curriculum Presentation

The curricular component of this field experience identifies some of British Columbia’s most interesting wildlife and how they meet the challenges of avoiding predators, finding food, and the changing of the seasons. A review of the terms environment, micro-organism, species, vertebrate, mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians, fish, classification systems, cell, cell membrane, nucleus, chloroplasts, chlorophyll, colouration, mimicry, camouflage and behaviour.

Tomorrow, Tuesday, July 17th, our Chalet facilities will be closing at 4pm (with last food & beverage seatings at 3pm) due to a private event. The Rusty Rail BBQ, BeaverTails and The Grizzly Bear Lookout Café  will remain open. Additionally, a licenced BBQ will be available in the mountaintop Plaza for added outdoor dining enjoyment. Look for on-site signage providing direction to the Theatre in the Sky and washrooms.
