Try your hand at axe-throwing, show off your hockey skills at our puck shoot-out and capture a keepsake photo with our mascot Grizwald the Grizzly bear. Take in Canadian movies in the Theatre in the Sky, or enjoy live music while sipping on a cold one in the beer and barbecue garden. Not to be missed are the special Canada 150 edition of the World Famous Lumberjack Show, ranger talks at the Grizzly Bear habitat, Birds in Motion demonstration and more.

In honour of Canada's 150th birthday, be a part of history as Grouse Mountain attempts to break the Guinness World Record for the "largest human maple leaf" in the world.

Hungry? Feed your appetite for authentically Canadian fare by indulging in a BeaverTail, classic poutine and Canada Day food features at Altitudes Bistro and the Rusty Rail BBQ.

Special Canada Day Activities: 

Guinness World Record Attempt (1:00pm, The Cut): Be a part of history and help us achieve the Guinness World Record for the "largest human maple leaf"! Wear your best red outfit and follow the signs to the top of The Cut. There are also lots of great draw prizes to be won. 

Picture Yourself Here (all day, various locations): Capture your Canada Day as a Mountie, Beaver, Lumberjack or Moose with our mountaintop as your backdrop! Look for the photo frames around the Mountaintop. 

Complimentary Canada Day temporary tattoos & flags (8am-8pm, Guest Services): Head to Guest Services at the Base or in the Mountaintop Chalet to get decked out for Canada Day. 

Peak Yoga (9:30am-10:30am, Mountaintop Plaza): Kick off your Canada Day with a complimentary, 1-hour outdoor yoga practice presented by YYoga. 

Party in the Plaza (11am-6pm, Mountaintop Plaza): Join us in the Plaza for a special Canada Day activities: 

  • Outdoor BBQ and Beer Garden (11am-6pm) - à la carte prices apply
  • Live DJ music by Man About Town Entertainment (11am-6pm) 
  • The Roxy House Band (2pm-3pm & 4pm-5pm) 
  • Street Hockey Shoot-Out Challenge (2pm-6pm) 

Canada Day Pop-Up Shop (11am-6pm, in front of the Mountaintop Chalet): Gear up with everything Canada. 

Grizwald the Grizzly bear (11am-5pm, various locations): Snap a photo with our lovable mountain mascot. 

Axe-Throwing (2pm-6pm, Mountaintop): Be a lumberjack for the day and try your hand at hitting the bulls-eye.

Shows, Demonstrations & Talks: 

World Famous Lumberjack Show (11:15am, 2pm, 4:30pm - Lumberjack Show Grounds): Shows are 45 minutes long. 

Birds in Motion Demonstration (12:45pm, 3:15pm, 5:30pm - Birds in Motion Amphitheatre): Demonstrations are 30 minutes long. 

Grizzly Lookout Ranger Talks (10am, 12:15pm, 2:45pm, 4pm - Grizzly bear Habitat): Talks are 15 minutes long. 

Canada Day Food & Beverage Features: 

Altitudes Bistro (11am-close): Poutine Burger and Molson Canadian beverage special.

Lupins Cafe (11am-close): Gourmet Poutine with smoked meat.  

Outdoor BBQ & Beer Garden (11am-6pm, Mountaintop Plaza)  

Rusty Rail BBQ & Grill (12pm-6pm): Salmon Burger and Molson Canadian beverage specials. 

BeaverTails (11am-6pm): Deliciously addictive Canadian pastries.
