Summer Hiking Clinics

Summer Hiking Clinics at Grouse Mountain give you an introduction to back-country hiking that will take you off the beaten path while providing you with a solid foundation of all the essential aspects of safe back-country travel. Each week of the Clinic we will explore a different trail giving you a grand tour of the wilderness and stunning viewpoints. 

Topics covered include:
  • basic navigation
  • trip planning
  • first aid
  • review of appropriate gear and equipment
  • how to minimize and deal with wildlife encounters
  • water collection theory
  • shelter and fire for survival situations

Guests will be provided with a mandatory kit list for this Clinic, this will include appropriate footwear, a small pack, water and snacks.

Every Sunday from July 8 through September 23, 2018. Each Clinic consists of 3-sessions.

Clinic 1: July 8, 15, 22 
Clinic 2: July 29, August 5, 12 
Clinic 3: August 19, 26, September 2 
Clinic 4: September 9, 16, 23

9:30am-1:00pm (3.5 hours)

Clinic: $89 Per Person (does require the purchase of a Mountain Admission Ticket)
Clinic + 1 Year Adult Annual Local's Pass: $185 Per Person

Age: 19+ (14+ accompanied by an adult)
Ability Level: A moderate fitness level is required for this Clinic. Terrain will include uneven rocky sections.

Clinics meet at the top of the Mountain by the fire pit outside the Chalet.


The Downhill Area, Ice Skating Pond, Skyride and Chalet are now open. Altitudes Bistro will be closed due to a private event. The Observatory, Lupins Cafe and the Grouse Grind Coffee Bar will remain open.
