Pureclean winter Experience

We can’t wait to welcome you back to hit the slopes for the 2020/21 winter season. Early indications point to an excellent snow year ahead!

As we approach the upcoming winter season, the health and safety of our guests and team members remains our highest priority and we want you to enjoy everything Grouse Mountain has to offer with absolute confidence. As part of our Grouse Mountain Resort PureClean Commitment, we will be implementing some changes to our winter resort experience.

Mountain Access

  • Guests will need to reserve a Skyride boarding time for travelling uphill and downhill on the Skyride through our Skyride Reservation System.
  • Advance online ticket purchase is recommended to reduce lineups and interaction.
  • Skyride capacity will be reduced to less than 50% in order to allow for physical distancing and manage capacity on the Mountain.

Safety Protocols

  • Non-medical masks or face coverings that cover a person’s mouth and nose will be mandatory for everyone throughout the Resort including while queuing, loading and riding on the Skyride and chairlifts, inside all buildings and during all ski and snowboard lessons. The only exception will be given to guests and passholders under 5 years old. Failure to comply, may result in removal from the premises and suspension of future visits.
  • Guests, Passholders and staff are expected to practice physical distancing by keeping two metres (six feet) away from one another whenever possible.
  • Hand sanitizer stations are available throughout the Resort.
  • Increased sanitization and scheduled cleanings throughout all areas of the Resort using products recommended by Health Canada as being effective against the virus that causes COVID-19

Chairlifts

  • Individual chairs will be limited to families or groups who are riding together. Otherwise, unrelated individuals who are not visiting the resort together must not ride together. For quad chairlifts, individual guests (solo skiers/riders) may be asked to ride on opposite ends of the chair.
  • Distancing markers will be placed in the queues for the all chairlifts to ensure safe distancing prior to boarding a chairlift.
  • Masks or face-coverings will be required for anyone during queuing, boarding, riding and disembarking all chairlifts.
  • Lift attendants that may need to physically assist with loading/unloading will wear the appropriate PPE.

Snow School

  • Snow School participants will be required to undergo a self-health screening prior to starting their lesson.
  • Face coverings will be required for both lesson participants and instructors including participants 5 years of age and under.
  • Pre-purchase and registration procedure for all lessons to eliminate line ups
  • Reduced lesson ratios with a maximum of 6 participants per instructor
  • Lessons will have staggered start times to ensure distancing

Equipment Rentals

  • Reconfigured ski and snowboard rental shops to promote physical distancing and limit contact with staff and other guests.
  • Rentals will be required to be pre-purchased along with Skyride reservation allowing for equipment to be pre-set and ready for pickup.
  • Access to the Rental Outpost will be limited to guests who have pre-purchased their rental equipment or services
  • Equipment will be fully disinfected between each guest use.
  • Enhanced cleaning and disinfecting schedule for all Rental areas.
Make friends and gain skills with ski and snowboard clubs.
