Full Moon Snowshoe Tours

snowshoe new/full moon tours

Come and explore Grouse Mountain's backcountry trails after dark. Our experienced snowshoe guides will take you on a journey to their favourite mountaintop to discover the breathtaking night sky.

The Full Moon Tours are filled with fascinating full moon folklore and interesting moon facts. Your guide will lead you into the backcountry lit by headlamps away from city light pollution and encourage you to experience the wonders of the wilderness under the soft glow of the moon (weather permitting).

With a perfect balance of city views and mountain forest shadows, this snowshoe hike will leave you with a lasting connection to the mountains and in awe of Mother Nature.

In contrast, on our New Moons Tours, our guides will lead you to their favorite sky viewing platforms in the backcountry. Illuminated by headlamps while hiking to the plateau, there will be no glow from the moon, allowing for the stars to twinkle and shine brightly (weather permitting). Experienced guides will enlighten you about astronomy, tell you different cultural stories of the sky and if interested they will share how the stars influence astrology.

Some snowshoeing experience required, including being comfortably able to walk and remain on snowshoes for 2 hours. Registrants must be 13 years old or older.

Session includes snowshoe rentals, headlamps, and guided tour. For those who purchase Mountain Admission, with your ticket you will receive 20% off Grouse Mountain retail.
