Day 1 (Tuesday)

Go behind the scenes with our wildlife rangers for a chance to interact with our Timber Wolf and a rare opportunity to be part of feeding our resident Grizzly Bears. Then engage your senses of sight, smell and hearing with an introduction to animal tracking and why this is an important part of a ranger’s duty. Discover how to collect water in the wild through the construction of a solar ground still. All this and we will still find time to meet the raptors during the Birds in Motion Demonstration and then see them up close and personal with VIP behind the scenes treatment.

Day 2 (Wednesday)

Be ready to venture in to the mountains safe in the knowledge that you have the right gear and know how to use it. This day will teach you the basics in map reading the use of a GPS system, and what you can do to survive for the night in the backcountry. We will cover how to build a shelter using both wood and a tarp, and will finish our day with a chance to rock climb on real rock with outstanding views of the city below.

Day 3 (Thursday)

Time to try your hand at mountaintop archery - will you be the next Katniss? This journey will quickly land you in true wilderness and put your new skills to the test. Find the right trail, set your GPS coordinates and choose the gear you think is necessary to climb to the summit of Goat Mountain. But what happens if someone hurts themselves in the backcountry or you encounter a bear? Your next challenges will rely on your team pulling together in order to find the solution to a hypothetical First Aid rescue and a quick bear cache set up.
