Grinder's Celebration of Life
Celebrate the Life & Legacy of Grinder the Grizzly Bear
Join us at the Grizzly Bear Habitat as we come together to remember and celebrate Grinder, the beloved Grizzly Bear who called Grouse Mountain home for 25 years.
This is an opportunity to honour Grinder, hear stories from the people who cared for him, learn about his impact on Grizzly Bear conservation, and celebrate the remarkable legacy he leaves behind.
Grouse Mountain will be making a donation to the Grizzly Bear Foundation on Grinder’s Behalf.
Schedule
- 12:00 pm - Grizzly Lookout opens with the Wildlife Staff and caregivers sharing stories and answering questions.
- 12:30 pm - Celebration of Life Ceremony featuring talks from Grinder's caregivers, the Grizzly Bear Foundation, and William Nahanee of the Squamish Nation doing a First Nations drumming and singing tribute.
- 12pm - 3pm - Visit the Grizzly Bear Foundation table, view memorial photos and learn more about Grizzly Bear conservation.
- 12pm - 3pm - Leave a message or memory for Grinder on the memorial message wall inside the Bear Yurt, located next to the Grizzly Bear Habitat.
