Perfect spring-conditions greeted racers this morning as they took on the challenge of Seek the Peak, with its awe-inspiring climb from West Vancouver’s Ambleside Park to the Peak of Vancouver. The sell-out event saw 800 participants complete the 16-kilometre course from sea level to the summit of Grouse Mountain as individuals or as part of a relay team.

This year’s Seek the Peak men’s title goes to Jessie McAuley with a time of 1:29:17 and topping the women’s category is Kat Drew 1:42:50. Taking top honours in the relay category is Team McGrinders who clocked in at 1:35:08. For a complete list of official race times, please click the link below.

“Seek the Peak is a unique event that brings together athletes, fitness enthusiasts, and outdoor adventurers from across the region to challenge themselves and raise money for a great cause,” said Michael Cameron, President Grouse Mountain Resort. “As the first event in our 2024 Grind Run Series, we’re so happy to see this many participants take on the challenging race, push themselves and raise money for an incredibly worthy cause.”

In 2024, Seek the Peak raised much needed funds for Metro Vancouver Regional Parks Foundation, the only registered charity dedicated to supporting Metro Vancouver Regional Parks, which includes Grouse Mountain Regional Park located on the southern slope of Grouse Mountain. With funds still coming in, the amount raised has already exceed $20,000.

“Metro Vancouver Regional Parks Foundation recognizes Seek the Peak as a catalyst for change, mobilizing individuals from the community to rise to the challenge, push their limits, and contribute to the preservation and enhancement of our beloved regional parks,” said Mark van der Zalm, President, Metro Vancouver Regional Parks Foundation. “Through Seek the Peak proceeds, the Foundation can continue to channel vital resources into critical initiatives, such as trail maintenance, conservation projects, habitat restoration, and community programming.”

Seek the Peak is the first event in Grouse Mountain’s Run Series which also sees the return of the already sold-out Multi Grouse Grind Challenge on June 20, and Grouse Grind Mountain Run on August 24.
