With the snow season in full swing, now is the time to register for Grouse Mountain’s Mountaintop Safety Training programs.

New this season, our expert patrollers will lead a Mountain Safety and Orientation program perfect for beginners, visitors to Vancouver and those who would benefit from a refresher. You will be given an ability assessment, introduced to the Alpine Responsibility Code, rope lines, marker navigation, Grouse Mountain’s runs and trails and how to safely ride chairlifts. You’ll also learn how to dress for different weather conditions and much more.

In our two-day Avalanche Skills Training (Level 1) course, you’ll learn how to evaluate avalanche conditions, analyze a Public Avalanche Bulletin and plan for winter outings, courtesy of our experienced and qualified instruction team. - Postponed due to unprecedented weather conditions.

If you work or play in remote locations, our 2-day Wilderness First Aid course is the perfect fit for you. With curriculum by Sirius Wilderness Medicine you’ll receive a detailed, hands-on introduction to this valuable life skill with an emphasis on prevention, decision making and dealing with changing environmental conditions.
