Learn more about staying safe in wintery mountaintop conditions at Grouse Mountain with our Mountaintop Safety Training programs. Our qualified instruction team will help you be more prepared for winter outings. Available this winter: Avalanche Skills Training and Wilderness First Aid Training.

Avalanche Skills Training, Level 1

Learn from our experienced team of professional patrollers how to evaluate avalanche conditions, analyze a Public Avalanche Bulletin and better plan for winter outings. Get your AST Level 1 and learn some of the basics with a 2-day, hands-on course.

Avalanche Skills Training Level 1

Wilderness First Aid Training

Wilderness First Aid is designed for individuals who work, travel or play in remote locations outside the range of emergency medical services. This 2-day course provides participants with an introduction to wilderness first aid, with an emphasis on prevention, practical skills, decision making and dealing with changing environmental conditions.


Proud to be an official Avalanche Canada Avalanche Skills Training Provider. Our team of instructors is led by an avalanche forecaster and all of our instructors are members of the Canadian Avalanche Association and the Grouse Mountain Ski Patrol.
