September 11, 2012. North Vancouver, B.C. – The summer of 2012 has seen another great season on the Grouse Grind and registration for the 22nd ClearlyContacts.ca Grouse Grind Mountain Run taking place on Saturday September 22, 2012 is now open. Hikers of all ages and abilities can reserve their place at the start line to try and beat their best times or simply challenge themselves for the first time on the world famous Grouse Grind. This year also brings a brand new addition of a corporate challenge to encourage some lighthearted competition to see who is the fastest, fittest, slowest, most colourful and who can bring out the most participants.

"As a Vancouver based company, the Grouse Grind is a key element to the culture at ClearlyContacts.ca; a large group of us here do the Grind at least once a week", says Roger Hardy, CEO of ClearlyContacts.ca. "We are thrilled to be title sponsor of this year's ClearlyContacts.ca Grouse Grind Mountain Run and we look forward to seeing other companies and friends from around the city at the top on race day".

Viewed as the showcase event of the Grouse Grind season, the annual race draws hundreds of participants each year. Record holder Sebastian Salas will be at the start line once again but 2012 might just be the year for history to be re-written. Will another elite mountain runner finally break his 23:48 time? The Grouse Grind has become the ultimate fitness bragging right here on the West Coast and race day is an official badge of honour for the diverse group of hikers who hit the trail every season. From elite mountain runners to leisurely hikers, the ClearlyContacts.ca Grouse Grind Mountain Run is for every age and fitness ability with a terrific celebration at the top to honour everyone’s summit achievement.

“The Grouse Grind is a phenomenon unto itself with fitness loving Vancouverites and visitors to our city taking the challenge each season and testing themselves on the trail", says Grouse Mountain General Manager Michael Cameron. “The ClearlyContacts.ca Grouse Grind Mountain Run is an annual celebration for the entire Grind community”.

On race day, Grouse Mountain’s chalet plaza will be buzzing with activity at the finish line. While the awards are presented spectators and participants can enjoy a BBQ, beer garden, live music, massage services, family friendly activities and the anticipated grand prize draw. Proceeds from the run provide funds directly to the annual Grind For Kids campaign in support of B.C. Children's Hospital.
