A sure sign that summer is almost here, Grouse Mountain is pleased to announce that the Grouse Grind™ will open for the 2016 hiking season on Saturday, April 30th from 6:15 am until 7:00 pm.

“We’re thrilled to kick off another season of hiking with the opening of the iconic Grouse Grind™ trail,” said Julia Grant, Grouse Mountain Communications Manager. “With an exciting slate of events planned plus the start of the 7th year of the Grind For Kids program, the 2016 hiking season promises to be a celebration of fitness and philanthropy on ‘Mother Nature’s Stairmaster’.”

One of North America’s most popular hikes, the Grouse Grind™ is a 2.9-kilometre trail that begins at the base of Grouse Mountain and concludes just outside the Peak Chalet. This summer, the Grind will host a number of exciting on-trail events including Seek the Peak (June 12), the Multi-Grind Challenge (June 21), Grind10 (July 1 – 15) and the Shoes.com Grouse Grind Mountain Run (September 24).

For the seventh consecutive year, Grouse Mountain and the Grind community are proud to support the Grind For Kids program which has raised more than $870,000 for the BC Children’s Hospital Foundation. For more information about Grind For Kids, please visit grindforkids.ca.

Hikers can track their progress and see how they compare to other Grinders through the season through the Grind Timer® program or using the Grouse Mountain App. More information is available at grousemountain.com/grousegrind.
