November 12, 2010, Grouse Mountain, North Vancouver, B.C. – Grouse Mountain is recruiting a new team of bloggers for the 2010/2011 winter season to contribute to the grousepark.com blog, which is viewed by tens of thousands of unique users every season. The initiative allows aspiring snow sports writers, photographers, videographers, editors to get a leg up in snow sports media by covering an exciting range of stories across the resort and industry. This is a great opportunity for up and coming snow sports correspondents to access the snow sports industry, see how it works, get noticed and make a name for themselves while Grouse Mountain works to promote them through industry channels.

Now in its third year, grousepark.com has developed into the main hub for Grouse Mountain locals to stay up to date and entertained about all things Grouse Mountain including: park updates, behind the scenes footage, event recaps, pro team features, or to enter monthly contests to win swag from Grouse Mountain sponsors like Quiksilver and Oakley.

Over the three years, the program has nurtured the talents of many including Charlie Grinnell, who is retuning this season as the site Editor. Grinnell has applied the skills he developed at the resort working for Alterna Films as an intern videographer and editor. Recently, he was also hired by Poor Boyz Productions as a cinematographer and editor for their 2010/11 production.

Applications are being accepted through www.grousepark.com with the final roster being selected on December 1st. Applicants will be selected based on the creativity of application, passion and motivation for the role, and current skills they already possess in writing, photography, or filming. Once selected the new bloggers will begin work immediately.

Each blogger will receive a season pass for the 2010/11 season, benefits including discounts in all food and beverage outlets, 20% off retail, monthly incentive prizes, and the chance to work with key industry media and influencers. At the end of the season, the team will have a portfolio of published work and a letter of reference from Grouse Mountain that will help them begin a career in the world of snow and action sports.
