adaptive mountain biking: know before you go

Grouse Bike Park welcomes adaptive mountain bikers. We are committed to making the Grouse Bike Park experience as accessible and enjoyable as possible for adaptive riders.

Before your visit, please review the below important details on access, lift loading procedures, and support available on the mountain to ensure you have a safe and fun ride!

AT THE BASE:
  • Parking is located in Lot A directly in front of the Red Skyride
  • The route from the Parking Lot to the Skyride is an accessible path with no stairs
  • All riders must load on the Red Skyride
  • Tickets and Passes are available to purchase online. To avoid visiting Guest Services, please purchase your ticket online. All riders are required to sign a waiver prior to purchase. The waiver can be viewed here
  • Access to the lower level of the base is via a ramp that wraps around the old Blue Skyride on the east side of the parking lot

MOUNTAINTOP:

  • Wheelchairs can be stored at the Upper Red Skyride Terminal or the bike racks located at the front of the chalet
  • The path from the Red Skyride to the Bike Park is an accessible path with no stairs
  • Accessible washrooms and dining are located at the Peak Chalet

LOADING THE CHAIR:

  • Please load on the rider's right side of the line control
  • Lift operators are trained to load adaptive bikes and will assist you loading your bike
  • Adaptive bikes are loaded on the same chair as the rider
  • Lift operators are trained to ensure the power is turned off on all adaptive bikes before the bike is loaded
  • The safety bar must be in the down position

TRAILS:

  • Adaptive Riders are welcome on all trails and encouraged to use the trail progression chart on the Grouse Bike Park Map
  • Please Pre-Ride, Re-Ride and Free Ride. Trail conditions change daily!
