From bee hive tours to paragliding excursions, the Mountain’s Summer of Flight has something for every member of your gang. Don’t have a car? You don’t have a problem, either: A free shuttle between Canada Place in Vancouver and Grouse Mountain is available every day between May and September. Expedia.ca has teamed up with Grouse Mountain to discover some of the best ways to spend the day on Grouse Mountain during your stay in Vancouver

Morning
When you arrive in BC, it’s only natural to unwind. Get into vacation mode, as it were. Go ahead and get snug as bugs in rugs at Coast Plaza Hotel and Suites, or splurge for an upscale stay at the Four Seasons or the Westin Grand Vancouver. Your family has a busy day ahead, so drop off your bags and get ready to fuel up!

First stop: you’re off to enjoy “Breakfast with the Bears”! After a Skyride trip that reveals stunning panoramic views of the mountain, you and your cubs will take part in an interactive ranger talk and observe two grizzly bears, Grinder and Coola, in their habitat. Then you’ll devour breakfast at the Grizzly Lookout Café!

Afternoon
With full bellies, your gang will have no problem filling your pre-lunch hours on the mountain! Learn how owls get to be so wise at an Owl Interpretive Session. The mountain’s wildlife team will walk you through a day in the life of an owl and answer your questions during a 30-minute presentation. Next, you’re off to The Hive to see what all the buzz is about—it’s just as sweet as it sounds. Learn how honey is made and check out real hive panels. Once you’ve earned another appetite, sit down at Rusty Rail BBQ (which has a regular and kids’ menu) for some smoked mac ‘n’ cheese, brisket, and other goodies. All while you admire impeccable mountain views, of course.

After your break, behold the awe-inspiring skills and speed of the Peregrine Falcon and Bald Eagle at a 30-minute Birds in Motion Demonstration. You’ll witness majestic birds of prey showing their flying skills high above the mountaintop. By now you’re bound to be inspired to see the world from a bird’s eye view, so take the family on a thrilling heli-tour of Lions Peak, Crown Mountain, or the coast.

Evening
Cool down from your afternoon of fun with dinner at Altitudes Bistro at the Peak Chalet. Then, before returning to Vancouver, see a film showing like no other. The Theatre in the Sky showcases movies about flight and native wildlife, with has daily showings until 9:30 p.m. on the weekend.

Have we inspired you to make the trip to Grouse Mountain? A family-friendly wilderness getaway can cure any case of stress and leave your entire gang feeling revitalized!
