December 22, 2008, Grouse Mountain, North Vancouver, B.C. – As the Lower Mainland is inundated with reports of difficult passage through major road arteries in virtually every neighbourhood, the current efforts to ensure safe road conditions offer reassurance to local residents seeking to visit Grouse Mountain. The snow season is heavily upon us and we are grateful to TransLink and the District of North Vancouver for the clear streets our visitors and staff use to make their way to Grouse Mountain each day.

The arduous work of clearing snow on the local roadways has been conducted routinely and superbly, and the removal of hazards from streets and highways has given drivers and passengers additional peace of mind as we approach the coming holidays. The recent snowfall has been a boon for skiers and snowboarders, and accessing Grouse Mountain is easier thanks to the work of local government in keeping our streets clear of snow and ice hazards. The vigilance required to keep our transportation routes safe is a task to be commended and not taken for granted. Around the clock snow removal operations have also been integral to providing reliable roads.

The District of North Vancouver and TransLink can count on continued support and collaboration from staff at Grouse Mountain.
