April 1, 2009, Grouse Mountain, North Vancouver, B.C. –
The spectacular winter season underway at Grouse Mountain until April 26th, has been a boon for snow enthusiasts, and with nearly 500 cm of snow atop our downhill terrain, this is an excellent opportunity to showcase Vancouver’s favourite mountain to friends or family.

The resort urges Vancouverites with the following message: “If you know a Grouse Mountain winter season patron- and chances are you do- now is the time to call them!” As a gesture of the mountain’s appreciation for another fantastic winter season, Grouse Mountain invites all current Y2Play Snow Passholders and Full Season Snow Passholders to bring a guest to ski or ride for free on Friday, April 3rd.

Grouse Mountain has consistently delivered the best downhill offering in British Columbia all season, and now skiers and rides can keep winter alive a while longer. To that end, it is pleased to announce that the downhill operation is being extended by nearly two weeks longer than any other North Shore mountain. Grouse Mountain's snowmaking fleet and experienced snowmaking team – still the largest and most extensive on the North Shore – have also contributed significantly to extending the season and providing the resort a competitive edge in terms of snow conditions.

The 2008/2009 winter seasons has already witnessed historic events such as the torch parade celebration marking the one-year countdown to the 2010 Olympic Games, and the 48 Hours of Winter event – a forerunner of the momentous decision to keep Grouse Mountain open 24 hours each day of the 2010 Winter Olympic Games (17 days).

Meanwhile, the highly prized Y2Play passes that fuel Vancouver’s most significant winter community are nearly sold-out for the 2009/2010 winter season, creating another good reason in a long list of ones to buy or renew a Y2Play Pass for those haven't done so already. Once they're gone, there's no bringing them back!
