North Vancouver, BC August 8, 2008 -
On Saturday, August 9 and Sunday, August 10, 2008, international paraglider and hang glider pilots will participate in the 31st Annual Grouse Mountain Fly-In.

The Grouse Mountain Flying Team (GMFT), consisting of paraglider and hang glider pilots from Western Canada and the U.S., welcome pilots from around the world to meet, fly and enjoy the spectacular scenery from Grouse Mountain. The time-honoured tradition demands the pilots demonstrate their flying skills over the two-day period. Pilots are required to stay in the air for a minimum of two hours and are rated on aerial form, take off and landing skills.

The participants will launch from the Peak, 1,250 metres (4,100 feet) above sea level, before landing at Cleveland Park’s soccer field off Nancy Greene Way. Since 1977, pilots have gathered at the world-famous event held in August each year to meet, fly together and colour the sky with their aircraft.
