From refreshing Moscow Mules to fun and flirty champagne cocktails, summer is the time to get out on the patio. With long days, short nights, and warm weather there’s no excuse not to get out, have some fun, relax and unwind. To help you through this patio season, we’ve asked our on-site beverage experts at Altitudes Bistro for their top summer drink picks.

Caesars are always an excellent pre-dinner drink, as they can tide you over until your meal or make a great pairing to the Mountain Nachos you might be sharing. Ask the bartender for gin instead of vodka in your Caesar – a different, but tasty take on the classic. If Caesars are not your beverage of choice, a tasty and smooth lager, such as our local Granville Island Lager, is always a nice choice.

For a simple and refreshing cocktail, Grouse Mountain serves up a beautifully chilled Raspberry Mint Ice Tea which is not only thirst-quenching, but easy to go down. Or, you can always go with the ever-so popular mint Mojito or Moscow Mule, which are sure to please.

Keep things cool and beat the heat with a watermelon or cucumber infused cocktail. Our choice is an Altitude’s Bistro special, called Grinder’s Cooler. This amazing cocktail features both watermelon and cucumber, as well as gin, elderflower, lime, soda and white cranberry juice. If you are feeling a little more wild, try another Altitude’s Bistro special called the Birds of Prey Punch, which will give you a kick in the right direction.

Think pink! Nothing says summer on the patio like a crisp Rosé. Our Altitudes team recommend the Narrative Rosé. This vibrant Rosé shows off notes of ripe red berries and zesty citrus, and is perfect on its own, or pair with the Steamed Manila Clams or the Wild Sockeye Salmon Noodle Bowl.

If your preference is a non-alcoholic beverage, try fruit infused carbonated or still water known as Agua Fresca. These are not only sugar-free, but will keep you hydrated (and are easy on the waistline).

So, soak up some sun this summer and try a cocktail at our SkyDeck or Altitudes Bistro patio. For even more fun join us for great summer events like our Mingler Wednesdays or Summer Music Series, happening every Friday, through to the end of August.
