Grouse Mountain will be closed for scheduled maintenance tomorrow Thursday, April 25 with no access to the Skyride and mountaintop activities or facilities. Guest Services will be open from 9am - 5pm.

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to carve down a ski run as the sunrise frames the city in front of you? On Saturday February 9th, die hard winter enthusiasts, and winter wonderland seekers can take advantage of 24 hours of winter sports. In celebration of the 2 year countdown to 2010, Grouse Mountain will leave all of its winter facilities open all night long. Skiing, riding, snow shoeing, ice skating, theatre in the sky, dining and shopping will be fully operational. 

“This is our way of celebrating this once in a lifetime event,” says General Manager, Michael Cameron. “On February 9th, our 24 hours of snow sports will give Vancouverites a taste of the unique and memorable events we have in store on Grouse Mountain when we welcome the world in 2010. The Games are truly a rare Canadian experience to celebrate.” 

The Olympic Games are a time for inspiration and celebration. The planned 24 hour snow sports celebration means more people will be able to enjoy the mountain and its facilities. Highlights of the February 9th 24 Hours of Winter include: Skiing Snowboarding Ice skating Midnight and sunrise snow shoe tours (depart) Chalet at 11:30pm and 6:30am) Theatre in the Sky’s ‘marathon of winter action sports’ films 24 hour food and beverage specials DJ spinning tunes all night long.
