Bike Camps

Thank you for choosing Grouse Mountain for your child's Mountain Bike Camp. Included in this receipt is important information regarding your program, please take the time to read it carefully.

Your Day
Your child will spend their lesson developing essential mountain biking skills while exploring the trails of the Grouse Mountain Bike Park.

Participants are grouped with similar ages and ability. Please view the Bike Ability Chart to find out more about ability levels.

Actual riding time will vary depending on weather conditions, ability and stamina. Participants who are in the early stages of learning will take more frequent breaks throughout the session as needed to rest and recharge.

Pick up/drop off will take place in the Blue Grouse Gondola plaza at the base of the mountain. Please arrive 30 minutes prior to the camp start time for check-in. For all subsequent days, meet your instructor 15 minutes prior to the scheduled start time at the same location. You will receive a pre-arrival email 24 hours prior to the first day of your session advising you of your instructors name and other important information.

What to Wear
Please ensure that participants are equipped with the following:
• The following is considered mandatory equipment for all camp participants o A mountain bike (dual suspension strongly recommended) that has been checked and tuned by your local bike shop
o Well fitting full face helmet and gloves. (Leg and arm armour as well as a second pair of gloves are strongly recommended)
o Water bottle/hydration pack
o Spare inner tube that is the correct size for your bike
o Sunscreen

• As Mountain conditions change rapidly, please dress in layers and appropriately for the weather. We recommend:
o Regular shorts/pants and t-shirt with a sweater for cooler mornings
o Closed toed shoes and socks, please no flip flops or sandals
o Wet weather gear (jacket and pants) as we ride rain or shine.
o Spare shorts/pants for muddy/wet days.

Rentals
If you have purchased a rental package, it will be waiting for you to pick up from the Rentals outpost at the top of the mountain. Please ensure that we have up to date height and weight for your student so that the bike can be set up appropriately for them.
