decision. Here I was, wanting to do 16km race with 4100ft of elevation gain, when I had just finished a 5km, where my biggest takeaway was "I hate hills". Happy 15th Birthday Grinder and Coola!
first few months they grow quickly and by the time hibernation is over they are big enough to follow mom out of the den.Unfortunately shortly after leaving the den both Grinder and Coola were orphaned but fortunately we were able to rescue them and provide them with an amazing natural habitat in which to grow up - it's hard to believe it's been 15 years!Happy Bearthday Boys!

First Hummingbird Monitoring Session of 2016!
season, but because of a nice stretch of sunny weather we ended up catching, measuring, banding and releasing 15 hummingbirds of two different species. We banded 9 Rufous Hummingbirds and had three returning birds banded in previous years (2014, and 2015 in this case!). We were also thrilled to see three gorgeous adult Male Anna's Hummingbirds coming up from the coast to visit our feeders here on
